One year pictures

We are shocked that his 1 year birthday is coming up in about 2 weeks! Where did the year go?! Although I miss having a little baby to cuddle and hold as he napped, I am so proud of all his little accomplishments and at the little boy he has become.

Diarrhea!

We got to experience Lukas's first stomach flu. One night right after Eddie left for work (he now works third shift so he can spend his days with us), Lukas and I got very sick. Eddie had to come home from work. He took care of Lukas who was vomiting and having diarrhea through the night, while I threw up about every half hour for 7 straight hours! I don't know what I would have done without Eddie coming home. I had a hard time deciding whether I needed to sit on the toilet or lean over it, so holding a sick baby in the process would have not worked. After the long horrible night, I took another couple days to completely feel better, while poor Lukas was puking with bad bad diarrhea for 8 horrible days!! We went to the doctor on day 3 and she said as long as he was not dehydrated, he had to just let the flu run its course. I didn't think the 'course' would take 8 days! He was filling a diaper about every 15 minutes for quite a few days, it was horrible. We did learn about a miracle diaper cream for his sore sick bottom, called Calmoseptine. It calmed his sore bottom, even tho he went so many times each hour. Before it was all said and done, Eddie and my Mom got to experience it themselves. We were so bummed to miss my Grandma's 85th birthday party, but wanted to make sure we didn't spread the flu to the other family members there.
